Recently in Mavericks CategoryI was in Arizona a couple of weeks ago and saw in the Arizona Republic that Mavericks Forward Jason Kidd was going to give away his Olympic Gold Medal. Word, at the time, was that Kidd would give his Gold Medal to Elaine Wynn, the wife of Casino owner Steve Wynn. Kidd called her a friend and a really great person. Some of the best basketball players not in Beijing will be in Desoto Saturday for a softball tournament, all benefiting the Josh Howard Foundation. No not the former head coach of the Mavs, but his son the current president of basketball operations and G.M., Donn Nelson with two Ns. He said in interviews he's not exactly interested... For the second straight year, the Mavericks left the American Airlines Center having been eliminated from the playoffs in the first round. While the speculation begins as to who will become the Mavericks next Head Coach, we know one man who we can strike off the list, Mavericks Guard Jerry Stackhouse.
