Why do professional athletes have such a hard time doing what most other people look so forward to doing? Retiring! The most recent athlete to publicly say goodbye on multiple occasions and later decide to have a change of heart is Brett Favre. After spending 16 seasons with the Green Bay Packers he announced his retirement on March 4th, 2008. He returned to play one season for the New York Jets and announced his retirement once again...

Volquez was traded to Cincinnati for Josh Hamilton and today, he underwent Tommy John surgery. Doctors repaired a torn ulnar collateral ligament and torn flexor mass in his right elbow. He is not expect back for 12 months and more realistically, isn't expected to be back to full form until the 2011...
