Nancy Lieberman, once the recipient of the Wade's Trophy, given to the nation's outstanding women's collegiate basketball player will be named as the first female head coach of the NBA Development League. The hiring of Lieberman as the new head coach of the Frisco NBA Development League franchise will mark the historic first of a female head coach in either the NBA or NBA D-League. Team owners Donnie Nelson and Evan Wyly will make the announcement at a schedule Thursday afternoon press conference. Del Harris is expected to be named general manager and former NBA All-Star Spud Webb as President of Basketball Operations. Lieberman is considered to have been the first great women's basketball player reared and play in this country. She was highly recruited by Old Dominion University where she received all-star status and led her team to two national championships. She later signed the largest contract in the history of the Women's Basketball League. The league later was forced to close because of financial reasons. Lieberman talents also landed her a position with the Washington Generals, the travelling opponent of the Harlem Globetrotters. She has since worked as a television basketball analyst. We would like to ask you the viewer, has the time arrive for a female head coach in the NBA? Are you for or against, please support your opinion.

I have followed her progress since she started at Old Dominion. Her smarts, skills, and toughness will make the difference in her success.
