ESPNDallas.com is reporting that Rusty Greer has interviewed for the Texas Rangers hitting coach position. The former Rangers fan favorite is currently serving as the Assistant Head Coach at Texas Wesleyan University under former teammate Mike Jeffcoat. What does everyone else think about Greer being a possible replacement for Rudy Jaramillo? Greer was a .300 hitter in nine seasons with the Rangers, but does that mean immediate success as a hitting coach in the bigs? The Rangers offensive struggles late in the season were very disappointing for fans. Is bringing in a coach with little experience do anything to help the cause? Next year could be Texas' year. They need to find their swing. Will Rusty Greer help achieve that?

Clint Hurdle is the man for the job. MLB experience.
At the risk of sounding a bit ignorant, won't the new coach feel a little funny knowing the only reason he's here is because the previous, really, really good coach didn't get enough of a pay raise?
Rusty Greer is a great part of texas history and an assest not only to the team but also to our community. He has always been a true texan looking out for his neighbors. He has what it takes to be the coach and a role model for the players and fans.
Rusty Greer is the perfect choice! He has what it takes to be an acceptional coach. He has also been a vital part of the community of north Texas. He is a true texan who cares about his state, his neighbors and his team. I think he is someone who will not only acheive top results but also someone who can be a role model to the players and young fans.
