The Dallas Mavericks kicked off another season at the American Airlines tonight. Brue Hornsby played the national anthem which was a nice treat. He had a Steinway Piano at center court.

Before tipoff, forward Shawn Marion grabbed the microphone to tell Mavericks fans that the team needed their support this season but he really wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. You might have guessed, he's not very shy.

Quinton Ross scored the first bucket of the night. The starting lineup included Ross, Marion, Dirk Nowitzki, Erick Dampier and Jason Kidd.

It'll be interesting to see what Dallas will have this year. The real dress rehearsal won't happen until Josh Howard and Tim Thomas recover from surgeries they had during the off season.
