Brenden morrow spoke with the media on Thursday after the Stars practice. Dallas get things started this Saturday at home against Nashville.

What are your thoughts on the start of a new season? Just another old regular start, or is there something special about this one?
"I think anytime you start the season there is some excitement. For me, personally not playing for half of the year, I'm looking forward to getting out there and getting another season going. I think all of us with the disappointment of how things finished last year are excited about a fresh start. A fresh start is much needed, so we are looking forward to Saturday."

A few changes were made in the offseason, including bringing in a new coach, how much does it seem different than in previous years?

"It's a big change. The systems are changing and they are taking some time to get used to. Especially for the guys who have been here for 10 years, or Mike (Modano) who has been here for 19. You have those old habits and sometimes they are tough to get rid of. We are starting to break though a bit and the system is starting to come around. Once we are all on the same page, we are going to start seeing some success from it."

Besides the obvious changes that were made, what has been the biggest thing that has been different?
"The way we play is a big change. The way we fore check, back check, there is pretty much a change in every aspect of our game right now. It's going to take a little while for everything to sync in.

Your new coach, Marc Crawford has installed somewhat of accountability in the team. They want you guys to take ownership. Just talk about that if you could.

"I guess that hasn't changed a lot. In Tippet's system, the players owned the team and he kind put us on the train track whenever we needed. So that really hasn't changed any. I do think it's more set in stone on we control what happens in the locker room and they take care of everything else. Our feelings aren't really a big concern; it's what is best for team.
