In a game that meant more to the program than any other this season to date, TCU quarterback Andy Dalton was special. The junior, who is on the Manning Watch list, went 17-of-26 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in the Horned Frogs victory against Clemson. He also added a team-best 86 yards rushing on a career-high 19 attempts. The performance earned him co-Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors announced by the MWC today. A junior from Katy, Texas, Dalton was 8-of-10 in the air in the second half, including the game-winning, fourth-quarter 25-yard TD pass to Antoine Hicks. Dalton has an 83.3 completion percentage (25-of-30) in the second half of games this season. Dalton's 226 yards passing moved him into second place on TCU¹s career list with 5,326. His 70.4 completion percentage this year is on pace to shatter Jeff Ballard's single-season TCU mark of 61.9 (2006). No. 10 TCU hosts 2-1 SMU this weekend in the Battle for the Iron Skillet. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
