Shawn Marion's production has dropped over the last few years. While he is getting older, the unfamiliarity in moving to two new cities could be partly the reason why his numbers are down. Could a stint in Dallas, where his status is not in limbo, be what Marion needs to get back to the player he was?

"I was used to Phoenix for eight and a half years. I was used to one thing. The city, the environment, the fans, changing is not something easy to deal with," stated Marion on Monday. "When you transition from the summer into the preseason for a new team, it's a little easier to get into everything."

The Mavericks can only hope that Marion finds his old self. Since 2005-06, his numbers have dropped every season. Last year in 27 games for Toronto, he averaged 14.3 ppg.

"Regardless of what I'm doing, what the situation is, I'm a better basketball player than I was before," Marion said. "I've definitely learned the game and I'm going to help everyone around me. That's what it boils down to."

"I'm back with a hell of a point guard and a great core of guys. That is what's up," said the veteran. "I think we can be pretty good. I think we just need to go out there and gel and have fun with each other. That is the biggest thing. We have the ability and everything else to win it. So we just need to go out there and do it."

If it was only that easy Shawn. Training camp starts this Monday.
