Texas' all-time winningest high school football coach, G.A. Moore, returned from a 4-year retirement to coach at Aubrey this season, and the results have been immediate. After a 5-5 season in 2008, the Chaparrels are 4-0, with four shutouts. We did a story on Coach Moore before their first game, and you can watch it again here. Moore spent the bulk of his career between Pilot Point and Celina, winning 412 games and 8 state championships (he now has 416 wins, and counting). Aubrey is lucky to have him, but at the same time, Moore probably wouldn't have gone anywhere else. He lives only six miles from campus, and that was one of things he liked about the chance to coach at Aubrey - the proximity to his ranch. |
