Pretty productive week in New York ... The Texas Rangerst just put the finishing touches on a 7-2 in at Yankee Stadium, giving them two wins in the best-of-three series. Chris Davis hit a 3-run home run, while Ian Kinsler had one of those, and a solo shot too. Dustin Nippert started the game, had 7 walks (his most in 4 years), but allowed just two runs in 3 2/3 innings - not saying that's great, but considering he gave up 7 walks and 4 hits, it's pretty good. Jason Grilli pitched 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball to get the win. CJ Wilson pitched two strong innings and Frankie Francisco cleaned up with a scoreless 9th. At the moment, Texas is 2 games behind Boston (and 2 games ahead of Tampa Bay) in the wild card race, and 4.5 games behind the Angels in the West. |
