As I drove home from work last night, I was listening to FoxSports Gametime talk about how the Rangers' bullpen is one of the best in the business. On my drive in today, I listened to ESPN's Freddy Coleman tell me the Rangers would win the wild card card I'm not exactly sure what the national media has been looking at the last couple of weeks. While Neftali Feliz has been special, I'm always on the edge of my seat when I see a Texas starter come out of the game. C.J. Wilson often gets a bad rep, but today's loss was all on him. He gave up three hits and three runs in the 8th inning, allowing Minnesota to take a two run lead into the 9th. It's his sixth loss of the season. Frankie Francisco has only blown three saves this season, but the last couple of weeks he hasn't looked at his best. He did have a great comeback game against the Red Sox a couple weeks ago, but almost blew another game to the Yankees last week. Wilson and Francisco are both free agents after this year. It will be interesting to see if Texas pursues either one of them, or goes in a different direction? |
