After going 3-3 in their last six games, the Texas Rangers start a crucial four game series with the Toronto Blue Jays tomorrow in Arlington. Tom Dakers, who runs Bluebird Banter (a prominent Blue Jays Blog), was kind enough to answer a few questions from Toronto's view. A fourth round pick this season for the Cowboys, Williamshurt the knee on a punt pursuit in the 3rd quarter of last night's game against the Titans. He finished with no tackles. Jones didn't have the greatest night rushing, but neither did Marion Barber or Tashard Choice. What he did have was a huge reception for 42-yards, a play that probably no other player on the team could have made. Felix broke a tackle, then juked a safety as he bounced to the outside switching the ball to his left arm. For a player like Barber or Choice, they have would not have had enough speed to get to the outside. It didn't happen until 7:52 in the third quarter, but it happened. As I sit here watching the Rangers lead after three innings over the Twins, I'm wondering if we really appreciate Marlon Byrd. Byrd has two home runs in this game and just made a diving catch that was quite possibly one of the best I have ever seen. At 31-years old, Byrd is batting .286 with 15 home runs and 65 RBI.
