P1020016.JPGWe're in a lull between practices at the Alamodome. The Cowboys wrapped up their first practice in full pads about an hour ago; they'll go again later this afternoon.

Even though the players aren't tackling, they are hitting. Linebacker Keith Brooking talked a little about that: the players will give each other a good thud, but they don't tackle to the ground. Wade Phillips was asked at yesterday's press conference when the Cowboys would practice tackling, and he said (half-joking) that they would do that during preseason games. They won't practice tackling ... the risk-reward just isn't there.

Tony Romo did his first mass interview after practice; I wasn't involved in that one - Joe Trahan and Arnold Payne had it covered (along with about 40 of their closest friends ... it was like a mosh pit). Joe is putting together a story on Romo for the News 8 Update, tonight at 10. I'll have a little something on the rookies and what's on their mind as they enter the world of professional football.
