The Dallas Cowboys have two very good tight ends. Jason Witten is among the best in the game and Martellus Bennett is a very athletic playmaker. So it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that when the Cowboys started their offense vs. defense in the red zone offense that they began with three tight ends. Rookie John Phillips, a sixth-round pick, was part of a three tight end formation, with Bennett and Wiitten split out. Wide receiver Roy Williams was also part of the formation with running back Marion Barber. Quarterback Tony Romo's pass bounced off the hands of Barber. Romo then yelled out in frustration. Still, look for the Cowboys to use multiple tight end formations often. Bennett is too good to keep on the sideline and the Cowboys seem to like Phillips. |
