Pro Bowler Andre Gurode is the starting center for the Dallas Cowboys and Cory Proctor has been the backup, but other linemen probably know it would help their chances to be able to play the position too. That's why during warm ups at today's OTA Montrae Holland, a guard, and Pat McQuistan, a tackle, practiced snapping the football. Proctor is an OK backup, but Holland has been a starter in league for the Broncos and filled in at guard during Kyle Kosier's injury last season, as did Proctor. Holland is the better player, if he can show he can play as many positions as Proctor and do it better he enhances his chances to make the team. McQuistan hasn't played much, but former Cowboys Bill Parcells was always high on the seventh-round pick from 2006. Just like a lot of us these days, the more you can do the better your chance of keeping your job. |
