Back in February, there were reports that the Mavs turned down a trade that would send Jason Kidd to the Clippers for Baron Davis and Chris Kaman. At the time, fans were pretty split on the decision. Kaman was injured, and Baron wasn't lighting up the scoreboard with points or assists. The Clippers were trying to dump salary, and the Mavericks were reluctant to pull a deal that would affect the 2010 off-season.
Now, knowing how things ended in the playoffs for the Mavericks, and knowing a little more on how the off-season might shake out, I will ask the question again. Would you have pulled the trigger on this trade?

My first reaction is yes! In my opinion, we would be talking about the Mavericks as possible playoff spoilers instead of the Nuggets. Not only would they have received just as much production from the point guard position, they would have gotten the dominant inside presence they needed.
I know that the city of Dallas and the Mavericks organization loves Jason Kidd, but this deal would have helped them for years to come.
Mavs:
Jason Kidd- 9.0 ppg, 6.2 reb, and 8.7 assist
Clippers:
Baron Davis- 14.9 ppg, 3.3 reb, and 7.9 assists
Chris Kaman- 12.1 ppg, 8.0 reb
A projected lineup:
PG: Baron Davis, SG: Antonio Wright, SF: Josh Howard, PF: Dirk Nowtizki, C: Chris Kaman
Bench: Jason Terry, Erick Dampier, Brandon Bass, JJ Barea, and James Singleton
If this trade had gotten done, who says the Mavericks wouldn't have tried to make another move this off-season to still get rid of Stack and Damp.
