2006 Draft: 1st Round Pick: Maurice Ager (28th) Could have had: Craig Smith- Timberwolves While the Mavericks sent Maurice Ager to the New Jersey Nets in the Jason Kidd deal, they could have had a scoring threat who can rebound in Craig Smith. Smith only averaged 10 ppg. this season for the Timberwolves, but scored over 15-points in a game, twenty-two times. At 6'7, 250-pounds, Smith would have given the Mavs a little stronger force inside than Brandon Bass.
2nd Round Pick: Nick Fazekas (34th) Could have had: Glen "Big Baby" Davis- Celtics Could have had: Marc Gasol- Grizzlies Honestly, who ever thought Fazekas would work out was crazy! That person had been hanging out with Josh Howard way too much. While I was one that was concerned about Glen Davis' position in the NBA, you don't pass on talent. "Big Baby" had won all of his life and was coming off a SEC Player of the Year honors. In place of Kevin Garnett during the playoffs, Davis is averaging 16 points and 6 rebounds a game. Oh yeah, there was that whole buzzer beater thing against the Magic in game three as well. Fazekas is currently with the French Pro A club ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne. Anyone know how they are doing? The other player the Mavericks could have had was center Marc Gasol. Quietly he put up great numbers (11 ppg. 7 reb.) in Memphis this season at the age of twenty-four. Donnie Nelson is supposed to be an excellent evaluator of European talent. He really struck out on this one. Who would you rather have, Gasol or Damp?
2nd Round Pick: Shan Foster (51st) Could have had: Anthony Morrow- Warriors Foster is in the Juvecaserta Basket of the Italian Serie A league, while Morrow averaged over ten points a game this season for the Golden State Warriors. The 6'5 guard, finished the 2008-09 season as the first rookie ever to lead the league in three-point field goal shooting, going 86-for-184 for a .467 percentage. Sounds like a better version of Matt Carroll to me.

None of these guys would have been given the chance to blossom into a good player because of the coaching staff and the overall plan.
What Plan? The plan to make Dirk the main scorer when he should be the 4th quarter scorer and a player that is just another option.
Damp has been ruined by coming to Dallas because they took away his gamesmanship and told him to just rebound and block shots, that's why noone holds him.
SO to answer your question not one of those guys would be a mainstay in our line up if they were here.
