But that's where the similarities end. Unlike Jones, Cuban hates controversy and doesn't like the harsh glare of the spotlight to shine on him or his team. He's notoriously private about his private life and doesn't like to talk about his family. That's why this week's stunning events revolving around Dirk Nowitzki and his alleged felon/girlfriend/fiancee must be driving him crazy. The last thing Cuban wants is negative attention focused on his team as they try desperately to dig out of an 0-2 hole against the hottest team in the NBA Playoffs. The Mavs' owner doesn't want a TMZ-like atmosphere surrounding the locker room, especially not now. Remember how miserable it was around these parts when Josh Howard went on the radio as the 2008 playoffs began and declared his casual marijuana use? That may have been Cuban's most humiliating moment as owner. This may come close. It has to wound Cuban that his star player is taking potshots from both the local and national media. "Cubes" doesn't take criticism lightly. And he's notoriously defensive and short-tempered when it comes to personal matters of his team. You can guess how all this affects Cuban. The biggest question for Mavs fans is how this controversy will affect Dirk and his teammates in Game 3 vs. Denver on Saturday. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

Meh, who cares about Cuban. What about how Dirk must be feeling right now?
This will be upsetting, BUT it will only anger Dirk more and then he will play even better!
Stupid "bimbo-hanger-on-chick" messing things up for our Dirk and our Mavericks! I noticed on that video of the two of them in thier,..kitchen at Dirk's house, he gets home from a game and says, what is there to eat? She did not even have dinner ready for him after he played a game when he got home!
