In August, Arizona State's brand new indoor practice facility collapsed, the same month it opened. Carpenter was at ASU for 2004 to 2008 seasons. Saturday Carpenter was among about 70 people inside the Cowboys' facility that also collapsed. Both facilities collapsed during storms. Carpenter has been told not to talk about the incident, as have the rest of the Cowboys players. Arizona State's "Devil Dome" was a $8.4 million bubble made of space age fabric and totaled 103,500 square feet and was 65 feet high. The air conditioned structure had a 75-yard field and a 45-yard one. Watch a report about the ASU collapse The Cowboys indoor facility was built in 2003 and updated last year. No one was hurt in the Arizona State incident, but there were three serious injuries in the one at Valley Ranch. Scouting assistant Rich Behm, 33, was paralyzed from the waist down after his spine was severed, while special teams coach Joe DeCamillis, who was to have surgery on his fractured cervical vertebrae Monday. Greg Gaither, 35, had surgery on his fractured right leg. 10 CommentsLeave a comment |

He's jinx. Cut him while Jerryland is still standing! Ha.
If this would have been a Nucor building it would not have colapsed.
Three Words.....Concrete and Steel
So you mean to tell me Jerry can build the eyesore in Arlington but can't get a stable practice building? I'm not pointing fingers but why hasn't anyone asked this question?
When Jerry built this practice facility, he really pissed off the nieghbors and HOA in Valley Ranch. I recall a report where he said it would be a temporary structure. Well, its been five years. Why not something more permanent and neighborhood friendly? Something like this was bound to happen. C'mon Jerry... its a tent.
This is a horrible incident. Rich Behm's life changed dramatically in an instant. There is no humor in this event for him, Joe DiCamillis, or Greg Gaither. I am also sure that the other staff, the reporters, visitors, and new NFL players will also not forget this day. What a horrible way to start your NFL career.
Do you need to hear about this story, much longer. This is old news...it is time to move on.
It time for new news, not the old news.
This is truly a horrific even that no doubtedly will change how practice facilities (on all levels) will be constructed. My prayers go out to all who have been affected.
Who ever is blaming Jerry Jones is retarded. Yes, the "indoor practice facility" was supposed to be temporary, but that tent had to meet building codes. If the structure hadn't been safe, people couldn't have used it. Just so y'all know. Maybe you should look at the facts before you talk!
thanks
No, the building did not meet building codes after the damage was repaired last year...it was never re-inspected after the permit was issued.
Of course no one in Moron-ville (aka Jerry-land) is gonna bring that up and risk a fine and of course the city of Irving was willing to just "forget about it".
The 3 little pigs could have built something sturdier.
