Man, do I love sports nights like this one. I watched Pittsburgh beat Washington in OT to make that a 2-1 series (favoring Washington). The Celtics fought back to win Game 2, the Lakers are trying to do the same, and the Rangers are playing late on the left coast. Love it. They just wrapped up their 5th win in a row, beating Oakland 3-2. Frankie Francisco continues to put up numbers, but he did get a scare - the last out of the game was at the left field warning track, with a runner on base. So now we're back to where we were after Texas swept Cleveland to begin the season 3-0 ... prematurely excited. But it's not AS premature. The Rangers are now 15-12 and leading the division. Check it out; it's better when you actually look at it. More good pitching, another fantastic play by Elvis at shortstop in the 8th inning, a great outing by Derek Holland, and another win. Isn't it a lot more fun to be invested in the baseball season? |
