Rangers can't win every game

I joked last week with the guys in the office that Texas Rangers wouldn't lose again this season.

It was a clear joke since, at that point, the Rangers still had nearly 130 games left to play this year.

The Rangers won seven games in a row before losing to the Detroit Tigers last night, the ninth straight loss for the Rangers in the Motor City.

And that's the thing about baseball, there are so many games and it's such a long season that even a hot streak, with improbable wins needs some perspective.

As exciting as the Rangers recent run has been (they're 13-4 so far in May), it's less than one month of a six month season.

The best things we can take away from this exciting stretch of the season is that the Rangers can pitch and they have grit.

The team ERA for May is a dazzling 3.12, best in the American League.

The Rangers also have found ways to win when a loss looked imminent.

This is a good team, maybe a great team so long as they don't have to play in Detroit.

The Rangers have two more games in Detroit, tonight and tomorrow, and then none until just maybe the playoffs.

As long as the Rangers can put bad plays behind them (and bad games) and don't dwell on the ones that got away, they'll be OK. If they have a bad play during a game and it affects them at the plate or rattles the pitcher, they're done for.

It'd be nice to see them in the playoffs in October. I'd rather them play the Blue Jays than the Tigers, but I think the Tigers are going to falter down the stretch and the White Sox are going to win the Central anyway.

While the Rangers had a great month we all must know that a slump will come but the support must not stop. We have a young group of guys with a few key veterans to kee them in line. Detroit has our number but the key games are ones we play against the West. We cant win them all but winning more we lose is what is important to this team making the October schedule. The Rangers are confident and they know that they must work harder than any other team becasue they have something to prove. I hope fans embrace and keep supporting our Texas Rangers.

If the Rangers truly need be successful they need to bring back the $1 hotdogs in captains corral this is because thats the only reason to come to a game and sweat to death because inevitably they will return to spareness I see it time and time again but then i do not Its fun posting without correct grammer and punctuation
