Quincy Carter in depth on DFWreporting.com

An editor here at WFAA started this website, and they did a really good job on a story about Quincy Carter. It's a 2-part story, the first runs about 6 minutes, the second about 4 minutes. It's worth the investment if you have time to watch.

Carter comes across as real and honest, bordering on likeable. At one point, Kimberly Torres (the reporter) asked him directly whether he's a drug addict, and while he wouldn't go so far as to call himself an addict, he admitted to having a big problem.

Carter also talked at length about the way he was released by the Cowboys, and how he was done wrong (NFL teams are not supposed to release players because of a failed drug test). Maybe Carter was done wrong, but he's not exactly a tragic figure; the general public doesn't have a lot of sympathy for guys who use drugs.

Those are just a couple thoughts I had after watching the stories. Carter's honesty was disarming. Take a few minutes to watch them yourself and give me your impressions.

Good interview. Quincy says he isn't a drug addict, but says he has a "major problem". His major problem has next to nothing to do with marijuana and everything to do with maturity and priorities. He chose marijuana multiple times; resurrecting his football career came second on each of those occasions. Quincy is very personable and even fallen to the lesser league he is still out there plugging away. I wish him well.

GREAT reporting. I was a Quincy Carter fan all the way through his short career in Dallas and was very disappointed when I heard of his release, the circumstance, the issue, and how he was release by the Dallas Cowboys. I pray and wish Quincy the best of luck. It takes a lot of guts to come out on camera and admit what he admitted to in this report. If, and when he ever play in the NFL again, I will be rooting for him. Quincy get your life straight and give it another shot. What did Jimmy V use to say: "Don't Give Up, DON'T EVER GIVE UP"

A job well done by the reporter and editor. I have always been a cowboy fan. I never knew these facts about Quincy. It seems like the drugs have really messed him up. I am very surprise that he talked so casual about his problems and then several days later gets arrested. I think he really needs some help. Maybe this interview was a way for him to let people know that he has a problem

Great interview by the reporter and a very good job done by the editor. I have always been a cowboys fan. I never knew these facts about Quincy. I am very surprised that he would do such an interview that makes him look guilty. The drugs have really messed him up. Maybe doing this interview is his way of expressing to others that he needs help.

Quincy Carter what ever happened to him?! I liked this story. Brings back memories of what happened in 2003 and 2004 with Carter and Parcells and Jerry Jones
