Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips says the Cowboys have a strong replacement for Greg Ellis at outside linebacker.

Phillips effused extensive praise on Anthony Spencer.

"We have a lot of confidence in Anthony Spencer," Phillips said. "He's a real talented player.

"Anthony Spencer can play."

The Cowboys are trying to trade Ellis. Of course DeMarcus Ware is starting on the opposite side, but Phillips says Spencer consistently makes plays.
