Brian Griese is expected to be cut by Tampa Bay later this week, two sources told FOXSports.com. Details of the release are being finalized, one of the sources said.

Early in March, the Boys traded starting cornerback Anthony Henry to the Lions for Jon Kitna. The move had some scratching their head at the time. While Dallas did need a capable backup for Romo, did they need to trade a starting corner to get him? Now it is looking like a move that was possibly acted on too quickly.

Kitna will make 4 million dollars this season; Griese will come cheaper than that. Kitna is two years older. Griese has a better career quarterback rating.
