Mavericks say NBA apology made them feel worse

The few Mavericks players that were available today still appeared to be in a state of shock after that game three loss to the Nuggets on Saturday.

The league's apology for referees not calling an intentional foul in the final seconds did little to make them feel better about the loss.

"I don't think it makes anybody feel better," says Mavericks Forward Dirk Nowitzki. "We don't get the last seven seconds back to play it over again. More than anything, I think it made it worse."

Forward Brandon Bass had a similar comment. "The fact that the league came out and said a ref missed a call made it worse," said Bass. "But we're fighters. We'll continue to fight."

Dallas trails the best of seven series 3 games to none. No NBA team has ever beaten those odds.

"I commend the league. I commend Joel Litvin (NBA President) for an honest and decisive response," said Head Coach Rick Carlisle. "Look, since he's been in that position, the level of transparency has increased one hundred fold. It's good. Look, missed calls they're no fun, but there were plenty of other times during the game we could have done things to put ourselves in a stronger position and it wouldn't have come down to that."

Game four is Monday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The NBA hates the MAVS, we already knew that. They make it obvious every time they let everyone hit Dirk in the face with hard fouls game after game, but they never suspend players for hitting him. Yet Dirk gets suspended every year if he tries to defend himself.

The NBA is no suprise, but what surprised me this week is how much the Dallas media tried to sabotage the home team. The Mavericks were having a hard enough time without the Dallas media trying to mess up their chances by bashing Dirk and his girlfriend. I hope by now that you noticed that no one but you cared one way or the other. This was one of the biggest games of the year for the Mavs, but the Dallas media, not the Denver media, tried to do everything you could to keep the Dallas team from winning. I own a company that sometimes advertises on your affiliates, but I'm not spending another dime with the Dallas media until you learn to support Dallas companies, i.e. the Mavs.

Do you realize how much money is lost when the Mavs are out of the playoffs early? Have you noticed how many people work at the American Airlines center. When you try to end the Mavs' season early, as your Dirk bashing has done, it puts a lot of people out of work and greatly affects the local economy. Since you want to bash the local team, put the American Airlines employees out of work, then we shouldn't support you!

If you wonder why Mark Cuban pushed the Channel 11 photographer after the game, it's because he is just like me. Sick and tired of the bashing from our local media. Maybe you should move to Denver, San Antonio, or somewhere else. This is Dallas and you're definitely not a part of this community.
