Mavericks beat Nuggets 119-117 to extend series

The Mavericks faced a series sweep against the Nuggets tonight and responded with a win 119-to-117. It was their first win in the series and the first of the season against Denver. Dallas still trails 3-1 in the series. No team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit

Dirk Nowitzki was a clutch player down the stretch. His 14-footer with 1:05 left in the game gave Dallas the lead for good. He scored 6 points in the final 1:47 of the game. He finished with 44 points and 13 rebounds.

The game was close to getting out of hand. Dallas had 5 technical fouls. Denver had three. The crowd was the best the American Airlines Center has seen in a while and that seemed to help the Mavericks extend this series to a fifth game.

Game five is Wednesday night in Denver.

Any one of you whiners want to complain about
the refs today? Don't need to use them as
an excuse today eh?
