Karl's comments way out of line

karlll.jpgEven if you were a casual observer of the just-concluded Mavs/Nuggets playoff series, you know things got pretty chippy pretty quickly. Mavs fans exchanged harsh words with family members of Nuggets players.

What's at issue, is whether or not the fans used racist slurs during the exchange. Denver coach George Karl thinks so.

Was Karl in the stands at the time? How reliable is his information? Because Carmelo Anthony's girlfriend, LaLa Vazquez, said so? Dallas Morning News blogger Tim MacMahon spoke to a fan named Peggie who was seated right in the middle of the controversy. Peggie said at no time did she ever hear any fan utter a word that could be construed as racist. Still another account from a fan pegs Vazquez as the instigator of all the trouble, with her words.

Interesting how the Denver perspective differs so vastly from the Dallas perspective.

Much like the playoff series itself. Kenyon Martin's cheap shot on Dirk Nowitzki in game one was called a "good foul" by Karl. The NBA disagreed, levying a fine of $25,000 on K-Mart.

I expect Karl to stand up for his team, no matter what. That's what's called "having your players' backs." But for him to cry racism when he wasn't even in the immediate area? Just plain ridiculous. That's a serious charge and should not be taken lightly.

Well Denver better enjoy their break......cause they are gonna get theirs too.....no way are they taking home the championship. They still have to get by the Rockets or Lakers and then........they will have to face...Lebron James. No matter how Karl tries to fire them up.......they are toast. That's the bottom line.

As someone who saw the series on TV, let me share what I saw........In game one, Dirk was lighting up the Nuggets. Was the answer to play better defense, or try to hurt Dirk.....Answer? Try to hurt Dirk, which is why the league fined K Martin for the shove under the basket. The officials blew it by not calling a flagrant one. That would have controlled the games better, but it was apparent that since there was no flagrant call, that Denver felt like it could get away with "thug" tactics.........Don't like the name thug. Fine, dirty players works fine for me. I think Denver had the better team and deserved to win the series. They could have done it straight up.
I also think, before Denver's coach calls out fans for being racist, he might want to check out all of us lily white Mavericks fans who wear our favorite players jerseys and support the players here because they are OUR team. We don't care what color someone is, where they were born, or who they date. We just want winning basketball played here, officials that call the dang game without missing win or lose calls like in game 3, and an owner who cares about winning enough that as a fan, it feels like he is one of us.....(except for his wealth)........We all want to win, win fair, and have fun doing it........

Apparently Karl didn't hear it first person or he would have said, "I personally heard the N word and other thing..." I also don't even see KMart saying her personally heard anything. Therefore, it most likely came from relatives/friends who were at the game. Well, in a court of law, that's kinda like here say. Just doesn't stand up.
You know, I don't like Karl. Don't know what it is exactly, but his team plays on the verge of dirty and then he/they act like victims. HEY, that's it. I hate people who are always victims especially when they're the bullies.

Go Artest
Go Kobe
Go LeBron!!!

Anything but "Karl & the Nuggets"
