CLEVELAND -- Chicago White Sox closer Bobby Jenks has been fined for throwing a pitch behind a batter. Major League Baseball imposed the penalty Tuesday. It did not disclose the amount, however a source told ESPNChicago.com that Jenks was fined $750. Harvey's take: I had to do a double take on this one? $750 dollars? Are you kidding me? Jenks makes over 5.5 million dollars a year. I did the math. That equals about $5 on my salary. I bet that is the best $5 he has ever spent. I'm sorry Mr. Kinsler! 3 CommentsLeave a comment |

I agree that is pocket change for this guy. I seen the pitch and he was trying to hit Kinsler this was not some accident where the ball got away from him
Ughhhh.... He already admitted that he was trying to throw behind Kinsler. He made no question about it... "I meant to do this!"
But a $750 fine?! Really? Whats the point? It is a part of baseball... These are big boys, and this goes on from HS baseball all the way up to the big show. They all expect it, and they play the game knowing that it's a part of baseball as much as turning a 6-4-3 double play.
I know... really what is the point of a $750 fine for a pro baseball player. It'd be like a $5 speeding ticket.
