0521_stanback200.jpgDallas Cowboys wide receiver Isaiah Stanback underwent arthroscopic surgery today to repair a tear of the lateral meniscus in his right knee, according to a team spokesman.

He suffered the injury during Tuesday's OTA session, but took the field for Wednesday's OTA practice before the injury was revealed.

Stanback is among a group of young receivers who are trying to distinguish themselves and earn playing time in the wake of the departure of Terrell Owens.

The four-round pick in 2007 has spent most of his two years in Dallas hurt and has had two shoulder surgeries.

He also had a broken foot his last year playing for the University of Washington.

Stanback has played in 10 games in two years for the Cowboys with two catches for 24 yards.

He has been hurt for most of his time in Dallas. I wonder if part of it has to do with going from playing quarterback in college to covering kicks in the NFL.

He was hurt most of the time at Washington as well. Although he has some amazing athletic ability he is so injury prone that it really doesn't matter how good he COULD be

Exactly, Jack. Talent is moot if you're not on the field.

This guy has been hurt his entire career and hasn't even been on the field enough to see talent. If the front office sees this much talent potential put him on the practise squad. Nobody is going to take him anyway as a convert qb barely hopeful trans to wr. Time to move on unless we loss several wr to injury this season and he is needed off the practise squad.
