May 18, 2009 ArchivesThe Dallas Cowboys have not done a good job this offseason addressing what, to me, is an important need: Backup nose tackle. They added one today, but it's not much of an addition. Jay Ratliff went to the Pro Bowl last season, but he's undersized for a nose tackle, who usually gets double-teamed by the center and a guard. At 6' 4" and 298 pounds he's small, really only by the standard of playing nose tackle in the NFL. James Harrison, the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive MVP, won't be making the trip to the White House this week when the rest of the defending world champions do so. Harrison, who skipped the invitation in 2006 as well, says it's no "big deal."
