I really like Miles Austin. The New York Jets are trying to wrestle the young receiver away from the Cowboys. And I don't like that. Part of the reason I like Austin so much is because he seems like a genuinely good guy. He is one of the most congenial players at Valley Ranch. He has a good attitude and is accessible. He's quite a departure from the diva receiver stereotype. But what I like even more is that he performs when he gets opportunities. As a deep threat, he caught two passes for 115 yards and a touchdown against the Packers last season. He's been a solid kickoff returner (24.3 per return) and had the first touchdown on a kickoff return Cowboys playoff history against the Seahawks a couple years ago. He produces no matter his role. As an undrafted player out of Monmouth in 2006, he knows he has to work harder. He's done it. He's also impressed coaches with his athleticism and size. Receivers often take a couple of years to develop and Austin showed signs of breaking out last season, but two knee injuries stunted that then. When healthy he can be explosive. We've seen that. With a good attitude and hard work he has the potential to a good NFL receiver. He's a good guy in the locker room, too. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

I agree 100% I have always felt that he was the future and now he is is the present.
These are great comments. We need to keep some good guys on the team. The Cowboys need to give this fine young man time to make an impact on the field and the locker room.
