The Dallas Cowboys today are holding their annual "Dallas Day" at team headquarters in Valley Ranch. And what exactly is "Dallas Day" you ask? This is an opportunity for any football player who either played high school or college football in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to strut their stuff for Cowboys personnel prior to the April 25-26, 2009 NFL Draft. Some of those invited may not have had the opportunity to participate in the 2009 Scouting Combine held last month in Indianapolis, Indiana. The scouting combine provides an opportunity for all 32 NFL teams to observe first hand the premier players of that year's college draft prospects. Rich Dalrymple, Cowboys Director of Public Relations, said that "Dallas Day" has proven to be a valuable tool for the team over the years because it gives the team an opportunity to make a first hand evaluation of a player instead of watching another piece of film. Cowboys Wide Receiver Patrick Crayton, who attended DeSoto High School, was a 2004 participant.
