Tank Johnson is rolling into Cincinnati. His agent told the Bengals team Web site that Johnson has reached a deal with the team. The Cowboys had no desire to keep Johnson after two lackluster seasons as a backup nose tackle. Former Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who was already gone by the time Johnson arrived in Dallas apparently is excited to get Johnson. Maybe he didn't do much homework on this one. "He's a quick, penetrating kind of guy," Zimmer was quoted as saying last week on the Bengals site after Johnson's workout in Cincy. "He could help us that way. He played in a 3-4 in Dallas and that was different than what he did in Chicago." The real head scratching part of this one is why the Bengals, who have had a slew of problems with players and off the field trouble would want to sign Johnson. He spent two months in jail with that probation violation because of his love of guns, which got him suspended for eight games in 2007. |
