After a 21-point drubbing in San Antonio, the Dallas Mavericks have the day off.

Head coach Rick Carlisle made the decision sometime between the time the Mavs drug themselves off the court and when we got the e-mail from a Mavs spokeswoman at 2:37 a.m.

It's easy to see the way they played and think they should be right back in the gym this morning working on a way to stop Tony Parker.

But the reality is this team needs the break more than the work, well you would hope the coaches are busy scheming.

These guys are pros and a little court time at this point isn't going to change much. The mental and physical break can do more.

And it's going to be one beautiful day in Dallas.
