Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington's job is safe, for now. Since that sparkling opening series for the Rangers, it's been mostly dreadful -- save for that 19-6 win last week that included Ian Kinsler's cycle. After the opening sweep of the Indians the Rangers are 2-7 and the inevitable talk of firing Washington has surfaced, well except from general manager Jon Daniels. "Ron's our manager," Daniels said Monday. "I read about a lot of stuff, but there's been zero discussions to the contrary." Washington's future was questioned last season when the team was 7-16. Then they won six consecutive series and were six games over .500 in August. They finished 79-83. "We haven't played as bad a baseball to this point this year as we did last year. We haven't," Washington, 159-177 in his third season, said after Sunday's game. "We just haven't caught any breaks. We'll show up and as we progress along, we'll get better." Washington better really appreciate having Michael Young and that walk-off home run Sunday.

Thats a good thing. Jon Daniels is the one that should have been run off a long time ago!!
It amazes me how quickly people want to flush somebody down the drain. RW is a damn good mgr. Get some pitching in the rotation and in the bullpen and he will become an instant genius.
