Ranger fans, take a deep breath... no, deeper than that... feel it wash over you... a feeling that may be quite foriegn... soak it in... ahh, that's it... the feeling of perfection.

And the best part is, your Rangers are off today, so you get another 24 hours to make sure you fully comprehend the feeling.

The rangers giving their fans more hope for the future in an opening day win that was next to perfect. Kevin Millwood let one pitch get away from him that cost him a run. Other than that, he gave the sorta ace-like performance Ranger fans dream of.

And the bats... oh those Ranger bats... its certainly fun to watch when their working, and boy were they working in a 9-1 rout over the Indians. And Josh Hamilton and Michael Young didn't even have to do the heavy lifting. Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Hank Blaylock did the honors.

Elvis entered the building with undeniable flair. A double down the line, a double play, another double play, ranging in the hole like he was back on the playground in his native Venezuela. Mr. Andrus certainly showed he's capable in his big league debut.

Now comes the hard part. Opening day does not a season make. Its one of 162, and only one. Consistency, not flash, is what successful baseball teams are made of. Now we get to find out how the Rangers will handle the inevitabilities of a baseball season: injury, slump, fatigue, self-doubt, and most of all compeition.

Ahh...but that's for the other 161 games. On this day, walk around with your chest and head held high Ranger fan - on this day - unlike after any opening day for half a decade - You are Perfection, yes, with a capital "P."

Yeah, you better enjoy. There's no telling how long this feeling will last.
