If you watched Sports Special last night, you saw me ask Dallas Morning News NBA writer David Moore how Mavs fans had to be terrified at what Tony Parker was going to do in game two... Not even I saw this coming. Parker was focused and near flawless in the first half. Not only using his speed and quickness, but near the end of the half, using his mind to get his teamates wide open shots. I knew Parker would play with purpose, but 27 points and 4 assists in 17 minutes. C'mon Man!!! The silver lining - the Mavs took the Spurs BEST SHOT, and still trail by just 11 at the break. I said after game one, this team is much more mentally tough than in years past, we'll see if they can prove me right in the second half. But this much is certain, they can't stop Parker. The Mavs can only hope he misses a few shots in the second half. If not, I'll see you Thursday at the AAC when this thing is all tied up at 1 game apiece. |
