| Let's revisit those keys to Mavs/Spurs game 2 »
Last night's 21-point loss marked the 9th time Dallas has lost a game by 19 points or more. Their record in games that follow those blow-out losses is 7-1. If you set the margin a little lower - there are 11 games now that the Mavericks have lost by 16 points or more. Their record following those losses: 9-1. Jean-Jacques Taylor wrote a column a couple months ago, noting the fact that the Mavericks had lost 6 games by 20+ points to that point of the season. That had happened only 7 times in the previous three seasons combined read it here. As bad as that is, for whatever reason, this team seems to bounce back from big losses. Add the fact that the Mavs are home on Thursday night, where they are 15-1 since the all-star break, and there's plenty of reason to be optimistic. |
