The Dallas Mavericks did their part and so did the San Antonio Spurs. Behind an explosive fourth quarter, the Mavs topped the Houston Rockets 95-84 in the regular season finale and to get at least 50 wins for the ninth consecutive season. The Spurs took overtime to defeat the New Orleans Hornets 105-98. What does it all mean? Well, the Mavs and Spurs will now face each other in the first round of the playoffs. The Spurs are the third seed and the Mavs the sixth seed. The teams split their four regular season games, but Manu Ginobili will not play for the Spurs. In the Mavs win, Jason Kidd also recorded his third triple-double of the season with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Dirk Nowitzki had 30 points and 15 rebounds and Jason Terry had 23 points in his sixth-man role. Editor's note: Here's the Mavs-Spurs playoff schedule. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
