Its the four best days of golf each year and I can't get enough of it. Becuase its the same venue each year, the Masters has an advantage over all the other major golf championships - familiarity. As an avid golfer, I know which shots the players need to hit and get to see if they can pull it off. My personal favorite hole - the par 5 13th. Off the tee, players have to hit a draw (right to left shot) to get it around the corner, but not draw it too much to have a chance at reaching the green in 2. And then its still a huge gamble because you've got Rae's creek to deal with. But its such a risk reward, because on the back nine on Sunday, an eagle there can change things so dramatically. Its like a mini-drama each time one of the big names steps on the tee. A number of the holes at August are like that. And we've seen them so many times now, its just adds to the experience. After watching Bay Hill, I'm betting Tiger will win his 5th green jacket. I know its the easy choice, but not as easy as you think. Golf is such a difficult sport to master the way Woods has, I think people don't fully comprehend how dominant he's been. So, I'm taking 1 guy against 95 others. See you on the back nine on Sunday when the tournament really begins, and here's hoping Tiger's there, too. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
