I guess the folks at the Indianapolis 500 are trying to reach out to a new demo.

But really, the best they can do is Josh Duhamel?

The (and I have to admit it) hunky actor will drive the pace car for May's Indy 500.

He is staring in the upcoming "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" movie.

Duhamel, 36, is best known for his roles on the soap opera "All My Children" and the primetime drama "Las Vegas."

And lets not forget the classic "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!"

The most interesting note is that he is married to singer-songwriter and actress Fergie, of Black Eyed Peas fame.

Duhamel will drive a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, leading the field of 33 drivers to the green flag for the May 24 race.

And here's why they're having him do it: The car is in the new "Transformers" movie.
