Jeff Gordon wins 1st race in Texas

Jeff Gordon had raced 16 times at Texas Motor Speedway, never having been to victory lane. 17 was his lucky number. Gordon held off Jimmie Johnson to win the Samsung 500. The win ends a 47 race winless streak for Gordon. He hadn't won a race since October 2007 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Gordon said to his crew following the race, "you guys got me a win in Texas, I love you!"

Gordon had suggested to Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage a few months back, to save him the silver cowboy hat trophy because he was coming to Texas to get a win. Gordon is one of NASCAR's most popular drivers, so to have him get his first win in a year and a half is good thing for the sport.

Turn left, turn left, turn left, and turn turn left again. How boring!

It is more than left, left, left.
It is doing it over 150 miles per hour with 42 other drivers trying to do it better right beside you with G forces you will never feel from you lazy boy zone.

It may not take an athelete to drive this fast and it may not be interesting but it takes a skill level that most are to ignorant to understand. Going straight at 110 in your car doesn't count either.
