Cowboys Tight End Jason Witten didn't like it when he heard that he and Quarterback Tony Romo were celebrating when Wide Receiver Terrell Owens was cut from the team. "Well being thrown into that, that bothers you, but I can take that," said Witten. "That has nothing to do with it. Tony yeah, he's a good friend, he's the quarterback, he's a leader but man he's the quarterback of the team. This is a professional football team. You can't worry about that stuff. For people to think we get caught up in that, absolutely not." Witten made an appearance at Maliu Speedzone in Dallas to race go-karts against NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin who is town for this weekend's Samsung 500. Witten also said it was time for the team to move on. "I benefited tremendously from having him outside," says Witten. "I'll be the first to say I was better player because of him, but decisions are made, we got to move on and I wish him the best of luck. No hard feelings there, and we got to get prepared." By the way, Hamlin won the race but Witten got in the most hits, including a bone jarring hit on Star Telegram beat writer Clarence Hill. His car got stuck in the side railing. "Just dirty driving," said Hill. "He knocked me into the wall. It's the players fighting back against the media. It's part of the gag order." Here's the video of Witten's comments. |
