Just a little behind the scenes note on Mr. John Madden. Truth be told, Madden's wife, as any concerned wife would be, has always been concerned about her husband's diet. Because of this Madden really didn't get many opportunities to indulge in the "not so healthy" cuisines. Well, for most of us when at home you have to abide by the house rules. Not a problem! However, have you ever heard the saying, "what happens on the road stays on the road?" In case you hadn't heard Madden has always had a fear of flying so he and his two drivers crisscrossed America aboard his custom furnished network bus covering the NFL as the broadcast analyst. It just so happened that Madden made sure before departing that his bus was stocked with all the little goodies that he had to avoid at home. Let's just say there was plenty of chips, dips and fried spicy chicken from a well know fast food restaurant that started in New Orleans. So much for "what happens on the road stays on the road." 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

He will be missed for sure... I loved following the blog one of his assistants did from the road - all the favorite stops and restaurants across the USA. Good ol' Chuy's in Van Horn, TX and of course he could walk into any prime steakhouse in any city on a Saturday night and get the best table in the place. The blog talked about cooking on the bus and how the mothers of NFL players would cook him his favorite stuff when he would visit their towns. Saw him at Four Seasons bar in Las Colinas one night after a Cowboy game and he was just hanging with fans. What a charecter. Good luck big John.
bout time he retired, he's bout 10 yrs too late...his act was lame and he made about as much sense as wade phillips being the cowboys head coach...buh bye!!
