A lot of Dallas Cowboys fans have been wanting Roy Williams, the safety, to no longer play for the Cowboys. Seeing enough breakdowns in coverage will do that. Not seeing enough game-changing plays will do that, too. There is more latitude for the bad plays if there are a lot of good plays. The kinds of sacks, big hits, forced fumbles and interceptions we expected after his exceptional rookie season. And that's the problem. Roy Williams' best year was his rookie year. The expectation was set high. He was the eighth pick in the 2002 draft. The expectations should be high. So, fast forward seven years and a $25.2 million contract extension and all of a sudden the Cowboys are talking about trading or cutting him. It's talk we've heard for a while, but according to The Dallas Morning News, Williams' agent says the team should trade or cut Williams today. Now. Let's all move on. The Cowboys would save about $2 million against the salary cap by cutting or trading Williams, according to TDMN. It all means you may get your wish. But with Anthony Henry traded, depth at safety will be a major concern. Just finding a starter opposite Ken Hamlin would be a chore without Williams. But before you celebrate the departure of Williams, it may be worth a few thoughts about who will be playing in his place. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

Jerry Jones. Go Away
Get the biscuit from Bill Parcells, go ahead and give it to Roy and move him to LB; just like Parcells said, one biscuit away from being a LB.
