Where will TO go?

It's a fun exercise .... what team would possibly want him, and where could he possibly fit? A Chicago Tribune columnist thinks he has the answer link. I disagree with him, as you can read in the "comments" below the column, as do most of the other readers who responded.

Owens will play next season; someone always signs players like him. If some Chicago sportswriter think Owens is worth the risk, you know at least one NFL general manager will too. It will be fun to watch the soap opera from afar this time.

Funny how teams and GM's work ... I was thinking about the Manny Ramirez signing with LA. The Dodgers were in a bidding war with no one, yet signed Manny to a 2-year deal worth $45 million. That was a week after Manny and his agent Scott Boras declinded the same offer (at least in terms of money). LA could have played hardball, lowered its offer and dared Manny to see if he could get a better deal anywhere else. My theory is, the Dodgers management decided, We offered the money, and now if we offer less we're going to get a malcontented Manny ... and we all know what that guy is like. Manny dogged it with Boston until they were forced to trade him last summer.

Which brings me back to TO ... any team looking for a bargain signing with this guy better be careful. Even though his stock is down, TO will be looking for a big fat contract, and a team that signs him to less that he thinks he deserves will likely pay for it on the back end.

I hope he goes to the Redskins and has monster games twice a year against the Cowboys.

Who cares Ted? Good riddance to a locker room cancer.

Sean, why don't you move to the DC area? And I agree, who cares Ted? My personal opinion is in alignment with Gene about the good riddance to a locker room cancer. In addtion, good riddance to someone who disrespected Dallas in the past and continued to be an embarrassment when hired by Jones. Too bad we can't fire Jones and let someone else try to get Dallas back on track. Switzer was a joke as well, because even Jones could have won with what Jimmy put together. It took Jones and Switzer a couple of years to downgrade the team, and I felt sorry for a couple of the coaches that followed because they were nothing but "yes" men for Jones. I wasn't all that enthralled with Parcels, but at least he didn't kiss Jones' A@@. We need more players like Roger Stauback and Emmitt and Walt Garrison and Bob Lilley. Those were guys that kids could look up to as being excellent players on the field and real men off the field. Jones, stay in the skybox, stay off the field, and let the coaches do their jobs.
