What about Samari Rolle?

srbio1.jpgNo one has started the rumor yet, so I figured that I might as well. With the upcoming release of Ravens cornerback Samari Rolle, should the Cowboys be a player? Everyone says that the cornerback position should be one the Cowboys look at in the draft. Now I'm all for giving a young guy a shot, but when you can get someone like Rolle for cheap, I think you do it.

Last season he had 23 tackles and 3 interceptions missing six games during the year. At 32 years old he still has some tread on the tires. He went to Baltimore in 2005 and had 8 interceptions in four years. I think he would provide depth at the position the Cowboys don't have.

Rolle asked to be released after the Ravens signed former Falcons cornerback Dominique Foxworth. The Ravens offered Foxworth $16.5 million guaranteed through a four year, $27.2 million dollar deal. Rolle knew that his time as a starter was gone.

What would you rather have? A 4th round cornerback who could make the roster, but could also be a practice squad member. Or a veteran like Rolle who is established and could provide some much needed leadership in the locker room.

Jerry Jones has a "BETTER" ideal. This one
would make too much sense.
