Here is Terrell Owens statement on being cut by the Dallas Cowboys:

"I want to thank Jerry Jones, Coach Phillips and the Dallas Cowboys for the opportunity to be a member of the team for the past three years.

"A big thanks to the fans -- you've been awesome! I look forward to the upcoming season and continuing to play in the NFL.

"I would like to extend my thoughts and prayers to the families of Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and William Bleakley."

Ok, Now I'm official through with the Cowboys. I'm very upset they cut T.O. and Roy Williams for that matter, but T.O. that took the cake for me, party is over. I'm going to use the term "You People" to keep this clean, but you are always trying to conform everyone. It's your way or no way. I can't believe you think this one man is your problem, you might want to check your record just a few years before he got here.

Good Luck T.O.

I never thought I'd see the day when Jerry Jones backed down to any one, whether it be the media, his players, coaches, or someone in the Cowboys' office. Who ever he listened to this time, made a big mistake. It breaks my heart to see someone betrayed the way it looks like T.O. was betrayed.
I wish him the best of luck in the future (hopefully he'll be picked up by the Giants or the Redskins.) I always thought receivers were supposed to want to get the ball and want to fight for the ball and one play the game. If I was building a team, he's the receiver I would want on my team. This decision is going to come back to haunt the Cowboys this next season.

A drama filled day for the Dallas Cowboys and their fans. What else can you expect from Big D! It is good and bad that the Cowboys cut Terrell Owens and I lean more toward good than bad, probably by a 70-30 count. It is good as I think he was to much of a headache with personality clashes with teamates and coaches. That was magnified in Dallas where expectations are so high, especially with this team picked to go to and even win the Super Bowl last season. Owens made to many bad and controversial headlines during his turbulent three years in Dallas. Bill Parcells could not control him in 2006 and Wade Phillips was to much of a hands-off laid back type to alter his ego. Owens blew up at Romo last season, got in a heated argument with Jason Witten, and did not see eye-to-eye with Jason Garrett and the other coaches. Thus, he blew up the chemistry on the team and hurt their cohesiveness, two key ingredients for team success. The bad part about cutting Owens is that he led the league in touchdown catches the last three years and drew double teams which opened up other secondary receivers like Patrick Crayton, Miles Austin, and Sam Hurd. However no receiver in this trio is a proven number one threat. The Cowboys hope that wide receiver Roy Williams develops much more repore with Tony Romo and those two will have much to work on in the offseason in order to achieve that. Regardless of that, I did not like the move Jerry Jones made last year in trading for Williams. I thought Jones gave up to much to get Williams as he mortgaged the Cowboys future by surrendering their 2009 first, third, and sixth round picks. Dallas has traditionally done well with lower round picks so what do they do without a third and sixth round pick this year (unless they trade on draft day). As for cutting safety Roy Williams, that hurts the secondary. Williams was hurt most of last year and now is gone. He was a first round pick out of Oklahoma back in 2002 that Jones was ecstatic over. In seven years in Dallas, Williams was a great player. However in later years, he showed to be suspect in coverage. His real strength was in run support.

Overall, I think the cuts of Owens and Williams mark a change for the better in Dallas and a semi-start of a new-era in Dallas. A lot of that has to do with the Cowboys moving into a new stadium this fall. Their highest round pick in the upcoming draft is a second round pick. I think the Cowboys should draft an offensive lineman with that pick as I feel the line is suspect. Romo covers some of the weakness of it up with his mobility but could be better served even with better protection. However as we have seen in the past, Jerry Jones likes to trade down. Yet, can he afford to do that this year with already trading away his first, third, and sixth round picks in the Roy Williams trade last year. Time will tell. Regardless of what happens, Go Cowboys in 2009 and beyond because this die-hard will always support and follow them! Times change and teams regress with that in the sports world. However the STAR will always shine bright in Dallas and soon Arlington. As time goes on, that brightness will develop into a glow that will aid Dallas in a return to the top where they will stay with another long run of success!

If this is T.O. statement,he handled the cut very well. I pray that T.O. learned a lesson on how people can treat you when you are keeping it real. (being honest).I am a long time Cowboy Fan, But at this time I could care less about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys team.To T.O. GET CLOSER TO GOD HE UNERSTANDS WHEN NOONE ELSE DOES AND WILL KEEP IT REAL (BE HONESTY)AND WILL NOT CHANGE HIS MIND!
