Former Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, who never called Terrell Owens by name, says if you get rid of him, you get rid of half the problems this Cowboys team has. And with half the problems gone now the other half should be easier to fix. I'm having a little trouble giving Cowboys owner Jerry Jones credit for fixing the mess he himself created, but it's a start. And maybe a good one. It takes Jones a long time to admit he's made a mistake, but he usually gets there and he has again. It was raining and raining hard in Dallas the day Owens signed to play here and the day he goes the sun is up early and shines all day long. A coincidence maybe, but a metaphor certainly wherever he goes. I am sick and tired of hearing the game announcers say almost every week they need to get the ball to Owens early, need to get him involved to keep him interested, need to call plays so the ball goes to him because it was always about him. It's not fair to the quarterback, not fair to the guy who calls the plays, either. A Hall of Fame talent with a Pop Warner brain. He was the spoiled kid on the playground who talked about winning, but only if he was the reason why. Winning is never enough for a man like Owens. It's not for a lot of guys who play games at the highest level, but the great ones get it. Too many don't and Terrell Owens never has. It's always been Terrell Owens to me. I never once called him T.O. because I've always thought a nickname is a sign of affection. I only use nicknames for the people I like or people I respect. And I don't respect players who waste the talent they have bouncing from one team to another because they can't spell team if you spot 'em the t, the e and the a. But now that Owens and the Cowboys have broken up, as hard as it probably was, maybe I should call him T.O. because I do love to see him go. You are all idiots. T.O. is one of the best receivers to come through dallas and we just wasted more talent. The coaches need to take more resposiblity and get off the players ass. He was the only player on that team that had the heart to be a champion. Homo Romo should have been cut. Time will only tell.
T.O. is a wonderful individual and player. Dale you are completely wrong and not looking at the great work ethics of T.O. on and off the field. Apparently honesty is not valued and hard work is not valued with the Cowboys or you. I am officially off of the Cowboys bandwagon.
T.O. wasn't the problem...it's Jerry Jones. He really needs to step down and start watching the team from the sky box!
Amen Dale! It only takes one bad egg to spoil a whole team. The bad egg is gone now and the team and begin to be a team again. The SuperBowl winners this year kept us all humble and reminded us that great teams win great games and great teams are made up of great individuals who place the interest of others ahead of their own. Good bye and good luck T.O., and thanks for giving us our team back.
Owens a wonderful individual? You need to put down the bottle. He's ultra-selfish.
I wish Dale would stop sugarcoating things and tell us how he really feels.
Even though I screamed "Yeah" when Teague knocked him off the Star, I have completely grown to love T.O.
The best shot I saw was when he was leading the Eagles fans in an "orchestra conductor" fashion as they were booing him. That was totally priceless and even better "classic".
Keep up with your charity work T.O. I will truly miss you.
Dale - try to be a little positive.
Dale... You have been right on about Owens from the beginning. Yes, he may be a outstanding receiver but it takes a TEAM to be winners! And Owens was never a team player and probably never will be until he realizes it is NOT all about him. I could just hug your neck for telling it like it is... and making it clear you do not work for Jerry Jones.

I've never understood why people can't read the signs. Owens bitched in San Francisco, bitched in Philly, bitched in Dallas. He divided the locker rooms in all three locations, got at least one quarterback cut, and somehow, according to him, the coaches and any players who disagreed with him were always the problem.
The only consistent factor in all the places he's ever been and ever had an axe to grind, the only thing that's been in all those places is Terrell Owens. He's just been too busy admiring his reflection to take a good look in the mirror.
I can’t wait to see all the people that just love Owens start talking about how they are so glad he is gone when Dallas starts winning a few games! One Ego gone one to go! Bad thing is the second ego problem (Jones) wont leave unless the fans bankrupt him by not paying overpriced tickets for his new stadium.
People who bash Dale H. are just jealous as Dale is always right when it comes to the Cowboys and there not!
I was never a TO lover or hater, I think his talent speaks for itself.
I'm just so happy to know that since he's gone everyone thinks the Superbowl is right around the corner and that's all I care about, I don't really care who gets us there.
Now, according to the media, we can sit back and watch the wins pile up. Nice
Parting ways with Owens may be the best option: keep him or release him. He is indeed a top receiver. If the Cowboys had a strong minded coach and quarterback, things would not have gotten out of control on the team. This brings up the true cause of the Cowboys' locker room issues. Jerry Jones should have demoted the head coach to defensive coordinator, sought the services of a real strong minded person for the head coach position and stepped back from the daily issues on the field.
Ok that is all I have heard is that TO is the problem. The other side he's the winner. Seems to be the only one that makes it to practice on time and works out all the time something our QB doesn't
have time as he is a rock star. I say the problem was ROMO AND GARRETT. NOW I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER NEGATIVE WORD FROM THE PRESS AND I DO EXPECT TO WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR WITH ALL OUR WONDERFUL LEFT OVER TALENT THAT RUNS TO CABO INSTEAD OF PRACTING FOR A PLAYOFF GAME. NOW WHO IS THE PROBLEM?
next topic please . bye t.o.
You go Dale!!!!! I could not agree more!!! It was time for Owens to hit the road. It is just a shame that it took Jones three seasons to fix the problem
TO should have stayed and Romo should have been the one let go. . . . .T.O. may not have been a team player, but he had the desire to want to win. Can't say that about the rest who are there just to collect a pay check. . . . Get rid of the the rest of the players and bring T.O. back!
Jerry Jones threw out a sacrificial lamb and you all bought it! Sly move Jerry,, taking the heat off yourself to step down as G.M.and let a Great Coach COACH!.
He's the sly one....
Stop beating around the bush and say what's on your mind Dale....LOLOLOL
WHY LET THE BEST PLAYER YOU HAD GO? I AM MAD AS HE HAS PROVEN BY HIS HARD WORK AND READY TO PLAY AND WANT TO WIN HE IS THE BEST. YOU SHOULD HAVE LET MR ROMO AND MR GARRETT GO AS THEY ARE YOU PROBLEM. YOU ARE THE OWNER! YOU HAVE LET THE PRESS AND THE MEDIA PUSH YOU IN TO SOMEHTING THAT HAS MADE MANY FANS MAD. HE IS THE GAME AND WITH OUT HIM THE COWBOYS ARE LOOSERS. IF YOU BANKING ON ROMO AND GARRETT THEN YOU REALLY HAVE PROBEMS. I BOUGHT TICKET TO THE NEW STADIUM AND SINCE THEY ARE SO GREAT I EXPECT TO GO TO THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR WITH THESE GREAT PLAYERS YOU HAVE LEFT AND THE LEADERSHIP OF MR ROMO. IF HE CAN PUT HIMSELF OUT. HE DOESN'T SEEM TO TAKE WINNING VERY SERIOUS AND TIME WILL TELL BUT GO GET T.O. BACK. WITH OUT HIM YOU WILL NOT WIN A SUPERBOWL
If you think you are going to the Superbowl with TO you better think again. You need to have let Romo and Garrett as they can be replaced but T.O. can not. Jerry JOnes you have let the media and the press push you into letting TO and WHY. I do not understand. He worked the hardest and was ready to play. If he voiced his opinon if thanks we going wrong he should have. He has played long enough to see problems. The belif in Tony Romo being a better QB is over. He has let Bollywood to his head and his love is not in the game. He is done. You have wasted a great player for a mediocer player for what. GO GET TO BACK.
I appreciate that Dale has been outspoken about Owens, but he certainly isn't the only one that's despised T.O. since day-one. The 4-ring circus that has been the Cowboys (Tank, PacMan, GM-Jerry, & T.O.) has driven me from not really being a fan, to deciding to follow another team. Two of the rings have closed, and Tank seems to be a non-issue, except that I don't like that a man's character doesn't seem to matter when signing players. Then there's GM-Jerry, who continues to make it clear he'll be pulling all the strings, period. I'll follow my new team and see how that goes.
how bout them cowboys! blind leading the blind.GO figure it out jerry, maybe 13 more seasons of that brilliant decision making! You make headlines as always but the wrong kind!what's needed is an owner who's not a drama queen and one that doesn't blame one player for a crapy season.Stick to the business side, go do a pizza commercial again! At least that is something people can stomache not your duties as G.M. another season as [AMERICA'S CLOWNS] Thanks RING MASTER.Maybe next season you can blame ELVIS!

T.O. = scapegoat.
The cowboys have more problems than players.
This is one PLAYER the cowboys will miss.
I have never like the fact that Terrell Owens had a star on the side of his helmet. Was he a talent? Yes. Did he have a good work ethic? Yes. Did he have a temper and act like a spoiled child? YES! He reminds me of Patrick Ramsey. Mouthpiece on the field, pacifier off the field. Dale had asked Jerry Jones, 'Have you no decency, sir?' I echo that sentiment. We have gone from a storied franchise to a prison yard full of prima donnas with a warden who gives the keys to the inmates and takes the guns away from the guards. Did we lose some talent in Terrell Owens? Yes. Is the team better off? I think so. I think Romo needs to realize something I heard a head coach say to an official one time. This is the NFL. That stands for not for long when you make stupid calls like that. I am a true Cowboys fan. I will love this team no matter how much trash Jerry puts out on the field in the name of a football team. I think it will take him keeping his heart in the right place, but getting his head out of the wrong one. Don't worry, Jerry. DFD has a jaws of life that will come in very handy.
Just an afterthought...
The Cowboys won five superbowls WITHOUT Owens. I read all of the pissing and moaning that our chances for a championship are now dashed. We have five championships without him. And, I'd like you to consider something. If Owens was the key to winning another ring, why didn't we do it? Everything else would have been irrealevant. The fact is that you have to have all of the makings of a championship team. The ONLY reason Barry Switzer had a snowball's chance in hell when he won the last championship was because of the team he inherited. Give me a break on the not being a fan anymore crap. If this is all it takes to make you walk away from the Cowboys, we didn't need your support in the first place!
With Terrell Owens gone then we will be able to see more weak spots on the team. Terrell Owens is a good running back when he is able to catch the ball. The thing is Romo and Owens were never in sync. They never ever got their timing down good enough to make those perfect plays that could have scored us touchdowns. It's not only one persons fault, this road goes both ways. The thing is, it's not about one or two people who win the games it has to be a team effort both on the defensive and offensive sides of the team.
I will have to say that Whitten and Barber were the only ones who could catch Romo's crappy throws in order to get the ball down the field in order to make some touchdowns. In fact Whitten and Barber made Romo look good. Maybe too good.
Romo needs to be running his butt off on the field practicing instead of trying to escape paparazzi. Why is Romo out partying instead of throwing balls and doing practice drills? Romo has really let me down, I really thought he was going to be the next great quarter back for Dallas since Troy Aikman. In my opinion I don't think anyone who will play for Dallas will be as great as Troy Aikman. Well, that's my two cents worth.
I hate to say this but Terrell Owens is not one of the best receivers to come through Dallas. I'm not saying that Terrell Owens isn't good. He just has diarrhea of the mouth (Don't forget about Irvin and Emmitt). Dallas has other exceptional receivers on that team right now. Terrell Owens is not the ONLY receiver Dallas has. Let's not forget it's not all about Owens. It's all a team effort to win games
The other problem is Jerry Jones is calling all the shots from up in the suite that he has he is not letting the coaches do their jobs on the field with the players. We do not need "yes" men as coaches. Jerry Jones needs to get over himself if he plans to win anymore games. We can't do much about Jerry Jones because he owns the Dallas Cowboys Or is it the Arlington Cowboys now?? hmmmm...... I can understand that as an Owner of the Dallas Cowboys he wants to win games and win Superbowls. Who doesn't want to win. Who Doesn't want to win Superbowls? I know us fans want that just as bad as Jerry Jones does if not more sometimes. But, like I said before we can't win if Mr. Jones won't let the coaches do their jobs on the field. (ok, I really can't stand Jerry Jones, I'm not one of his fans whatsoever.)
Another thing is we need a coach who is going to strike terror into those boys out on the field. We don't need coaches who want to be the players best friend. This is not a popularity contest with the boys on the team. Look back at other coaches they weren't buddy buddy with the players. Look at Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson. Those two coaches knew how to get the most out of their players and win games.
TO is a great athlete but a parasite to a team. If only he could have been more humble. Now we get to see what the other receivers can do and how Romo will perform without the pressure to throw every other ball to TO.
Thanks Dale - couldn't have said it better myself. Good bye & good riddance to another bad boy Jerry felt the need to saddle the fans with. Don't go away mad Terrell, JUST GO AWAY!!

Problem isn't OWENS but Jerry Jones, Wade Phillips and JAson Garrett. Love him or hate him TO is an important part of the Cowboys offense(i hate to admit that). Romo is ONLY where he is today because of Owens..
The days of Jason Witten(Romo's fav target) running wide open down field like he is use too are over! and the running game will suffer because there is no longer a big passing threat. The whole offense will be different now. Way to go Jerry!!
The issue isn't with Owens but with the coaching staff. It's simple, IF the cowboys win Owens shuts up- Cowboys lose and then there are issues. Terrell is just a competitor and hates losing. IF Coach Phillips had any leadership or people skills he would have stepped in and handled Owens(just like Parcells did). We all knew what we are getting when we brought Owens to the team and Jerry just needs to deal with that.. if Wade Phillips can't handle him, bring in a coach that can. I think it's weak character on Jerry Jone's to just give up and let Owens win.. especially after he had given OWENS such a big bonus last year$$. If Owens was causing trouble in the locker room, suspend him for a game, fine him$$.. Nobody seemed to step in and discipline TO.
The problem is the cream puff head coach, definitely the predictable play calling of offensive cord Jason Garrett.. and perhaps the QB.. and we will finally realize exactly the type of QB Tony Romo is now--- a very talented 2nd string Quarterback but a leader he is not.
I really miss Tom Landry and Bill Parcels... hell, even Jimmy Johnson..
This team needs discipline and class!!
I thought it was a slap in the face for any decent Cowboy fan and all the decent players when Owens was brought in. I lost respect for Jones when he caved on the morals and integrity in supposedly "an effort to win another SB". Interestingly Dallas won all their SB without Owens, never won one with him. Owens was a spoiled discontent with the me, me, me attitude. I quit being a Cowboys fan when Owens was in a Cowboys uniform. I might reconsider now that he is gone. One thing we do need though is a shrink for Romo. I've never seen anyone who seems to possess the talent, yet be such a flake. I appreciate Dale more than ever when he tells it like it is, but then Dale and I have agreed on just about everything for the past 25 years or so. I have since moved to Ohio, much to my chagrin (my wife wanted to be close to her mother who is now 87). If you want to know more about losers, check out the Browns and the Bengals. The Bengals have an Owens clone, called Johnson, although he has another name (in order to gain more attention). Too bad their trash talk doesn't convert to wins on the field, but then what do you expect from guys who are overrated but under performed.
