The Dallas Cowboys have signed a new player: free agent safety Gerald Sensabaugh. He should be a perfect fit. He's 25 and been arrested three times, but then everybody I know has been. The last time he was arrested he had a Glock and AK-47 in his car, but then who doesn't. Sensabaugh has played in Jacksonville since 2005 and had four interceptions last year. At least he had more interceptions than guns. It's a start. 29 CommentsLeave a comment |

Why must we center all new players coming to Dallas on past players with records: Meaning this guy has no real record so keep it out of media. Don't give him a rap before he even gets started, Grow the team with positive talk and only neg when it is warranted.
Sound like Dale has a personal agenda with the cowboys. The guns in his car what was it all about. Give the guy a chance first.
sure no big deal everybody carries around those type of weapons in their car, for safety. Give it a break guys, JJ is bringing in the same caliber players as he always has. Great Role Model for the kids. If you or I get caught with that type of weaponry we end up in Jail. Give the guy a chance?, PLEASE get a grip. You guys seem so worried about winning that you are willing to overlook the plain fact that most people dont get those type of chances. Pac Man, M Irvin, who is next Michael Vick?
tj...if we get caught with that kind of weaponry AND we don't have the correct paper work...then we end up in jail.
Its not illegal to own those weapons. Besides what he has been arrested for is nothing as compared to what the guys you mentioned have been arrested for.
This boy will fit in nicely. Just like the article says. Jerry will ruin the team that Parcels left him very quickly unless he gets a football man to make the decisions. Watch Miami get into the SB soon.
Your right BillyBob, at least this time he had enough sense to get the permits he needed as oppposed to his arrest in 06
"The best part is that this time, he was caught with three guns in the car. But OTR, what kind of guns. We’ll tell you. He had a Bersa 380, an International Arms AK-47 and a Glock 22. An AK-47. What in the crap does an NFL player need an AK-47 for? And why would you be driving around with it?"
just a quote of another news source, you tell me, Role Model? I think not, JJ is going to shackel the cowboys, I had thought I wasnt going to have any fun this coming season as I thought the boys might actually have a decent shot after getting rid of TO, but thanks to JJ I see that there will be plenty of opportunity for the team to self destruct on it own.
thanks jj
I see everyone has Sensabaugh labeled as a felonious person. Maybe y'all should have done a little more reading and found out that later on, after a little more investigation, they found that the guns had been registered and therefore NO CONVICTION. That goes for you too Dale. He was arrested because of a paperwork issue, not because of a crime. Give the guy a break. Also Dale, you reference Glock and AK 47 as if they were something evil. They are guns, that's all. A Glock is actually known for it's dependability as is the AK 47.
hmm, am I missing something here? You are right owning these weapons is not a crime, not having a permit for these weapons is however, agains the law. His first arrest, he did not have said permit, but that aside, legal or not, why do you carry those types of weapons with you? I am not against Ownership, but what do you use an AK47 for?, I mean this guy is not bubba shooting at some bass in a stock tank on private property!!!!! Geez louise, guys there is something more to this than meets the eye, NO ONE as a matter of habit carries this type of armament on a regualar basis with out a reason, it is not the guns that have me, but the WHY he is carrying this type of heat with him that is the bigger concern. What is going on in the background? Oh wait, let me cover my eyes, and look at the bigger(smaller) picture.....Cowboys sign a star safety !!!!
Not having a permit for those weapons is NOT a crime in Texas. And you don't need a permit to carry them in your car either. I will admit that carrying an AK 47 around all the time would make one wonder. But we don't know the circumstances of why he had them in his car. Was he moving? Was he headed for the range? Absolutely nothing wrong with carrying a handgun in the car at any time, or even all the time. As a matter of fact, more law abiding people are carrying guns today for protection.
Hey Bob, the man has been arrested twice with this type of weaponry in his vehicle, not once but twice. It is not a one time deal here. It is not a question of gun ownership to me, is this guy the kind of guy you want associate with the DALLAS COWBOYS? My answer is no, he does not appear, key word appear, to be a person that I would want my kids to look up to. Unfortunatly, jj does not seem to care about that and the Cowboys and the Cowboy Organization is tainted because of that.
why did he have them? Well if you are going to go target shooting at a range you have to get them there somehow dont you. I carry firearms of all diffrent types quite often. It is called target shooting. If you have never done it then dont talk about it. Great way to relieve stress with out doing anything stupid or dangerous. If he had all the proper permits andf documentation ther is no argument to be had
What we need to ask ourselves is what is more important. The fact that the man likes guns or the fact that he can play safety a position OUR Cowboys have desperatly needed since Woody left.
tackles:70
Solo: 59
INT: 4
who cares about some legally owned firearms
sure target practice, speeding in the night. Yea that makes sense, I'll buy it. Yea so he likes guns sure every buddy does, and I always carry my AK with me when I go out, just in case I need to relieve stress and I happen to be driving by my gun range. But Chad is right, what is more important, the Cowboys have desperatly needed a safety...............thanks for proving my point guys, we will make excuses for their indiscretions so long as they help us win. I recall how everyone forgave TO when he came to town too, where is he now.....? What is everyone saying about him after he has left?..... JJ, cowboys fans, you have not learned your lesson apparently!!!
I didnt like it when T.O. came and i am Glad he is gone. He destroyed two teams before he came and i new he would destroy this one to. And yes i still hold a grudge with him for spiking the ball on the star.
My point is Thousands of people have weapons in there cars everyday and everynight. does that make them a bad person if so tell that to the american soldier who as far as i know is still in prison in mexico cause he had a CAR-15 in his car on his way home on leave from IRAQ. driving to Cali. and wanted to have breakfast in Mexico. He planned on parking on the US side walk across the Border have breakfast and walk back. He got lost ended up driving in to Mexico Got pulled over and is now In mexican prison for having a gun. Is he a bad person no.
Dont judge somebody because they like or have or even carry guns.
and we wont judge you.
Give this man a chance
Sure, give him a chance, along with the others that JJ has given a chance to... Sure go ahead, as long as we win.................YOU GO DALE, you just keep gnawing on Jerry till he gets it right.
"Dear Gerald,
I'm writing you today because, for the third year in a row, you were arrested for the third time for a vehicle related incident in your home town of Kingsport Tennessee. Now, I wonder if the incident has something to do with the fact that you're driving around in a Bentley in a town that probably dosen't have many owners of that particular model, but I could be wrong. Anyhow, I digress.
My point for wriitng you is to say that I'm deeply sorry that you will not be on the 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars. Your 2008 campaign was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise dismal season with our defense. You were certainly the only player that seemed to play with any fire last December. Unfortunatly for the Jaguars, your motivation for a pay check combined with your arrest and connection to firearms will more than likely mean that you are sent to the free agency market. You'll strap on another helmet and make plays for another team.
It disappoints me greatly that the town of Kingsport Tennessee has such an obsession with pulling you over, considering that there's no way the police department don't realize that it's you when they stop your car. It dsappoints me that after all the gun related arrests, that you'd drive around with three weapons in your car. It also disappoints me that this will continue the Jaguars reputation as "Cincy South"......"
Hmm sounds like they gave him a chance down there if you ask me.........? he will be different here though, just like TO was, just like Pacman was........ We need to win here so it doesnt matter ......... YOU GO DALE!!!!!
okay i just got one question after reading the article telling about his arrest in the Jacksonville newspaper where did you get the info that it was at night?
And why did they even need to see his drivers license. He circled a block then got out of his car and went in a barber shop. they ran the plates on the car and found out who it was registered to."later they found out his was driving on an expired License. I fail to see what he did to warrant any of this other than forget to pay a ticket. and try to get a haircut
Oh come on dude, go read about the people you are defending and find out what all they have done, 3 arrest in 3 years come on, get a handle on your argument. He is not a role model for my kids, he is not a good signing by jj, and he further exemplifies the "win at all cost" attitude of the Dallas Cowboys and a fair weather fan base. Close your eyes, and maybe it will go away, and if it doenst, at least we can hope to win a playoff game. Hmmm if I get a suspended license I lose my job, This is a HIGH PROFILE individual, discretion is everything, responsibility to self, to team and to those that look up to you, quit making excuses for this guy, and own up to the fact that he is not what the cowboys need to have associated with their team. YOU want quality from your team? Build personal integrity, character, responsibility for your actions.
Oh wait we can win with this guy (maybe) so it is okay!! We dont need all that stuff, what for? Get a Grip, YOU GO DALE, KEEP CHOMPING ON jj
after reading the kingsport,TN newspaper article it is even more hokey. The only reason he was even suspicious was he was in a bently in the projects. big freakin deal he wanted a haircut from a brother. And yes he was getting a haircut there they even let him finish before taking him into custody. one of his recless driving violations was doing a wheelie on a motorcycle. and the other one was doing 84 in a 55. good go lock him up and throw away the Key this man is a menace to society.
moral of the story is never get your haircut in kingsport i guess.
yea Chad your right, So where did you buy your blinders from? No one said he was a menace, you need to re-read the post for the point. You merely prove my point, we as fans, will overlook all indiscretions of our athletes for a win. We should hold these people to a higher level of responsiblity than the average individual, we should not reward their misbehavior with Multimillion dollar contracts, or the like. This isnt about a speeding ticket this is about a pattern of behavior that someone of high visibility has displayed in a very short 3 years. There is a question of character invovlved here that you either dont care about, or your are being dismissive in the hopes of a better team. Not knowing you personally, and basing this on your arguments, I would judge the latter of the two statements is correct, thus further proving my point.........."Win at all Cost" Thanks Chad, you have been stellar in support of my argument.
From what i have seen from reading your posts. I have determined this about you. Your hatred of Jerry is so bad that you will never be happy with a Free Agent that he signs because they will always have a flaw. If they dont have a flaw we would never be able to get ahold of them.
Agreed this man is not perfect. he has made some mistakes. Should he be a role model for your kids. probably not. Who should be.
Tony Romo-hmm Premarital Sex with Women
nope not for my kids
Terrell Owens- nope concited loud mouth Accidently takes to many pills
Marion Barber-Possibly but he never talks so it is hard to say
Jason Witten-Probably
the list can go on and on.
Let me tell you about Role Models:
They will let you down why they are men they are human.
Role models in My childrens lives.
in this order
1. God
2. Christ
3. Me
Why because i believe in parenting and teaching my childeren about the important things in life. and professional athletes are not top of that list
Yea thats it !!! It has nothing to do with character of individuals, nothing about personal integrity.... "I Hate Jerry Jones" I will buy it............as long as we win, what ever it takes to win I am all for..............Thanks again Chad, it is all so crystal clear to me now........., so where did you get your blinders again?
okay i am done. I obviously in no way shape or form can make you understand where i am coming from and since you keep giving the same argument over and over with no new material i am done. My blinders came from the world of common sence and giving people a break. They fit perfect and come in on size fits all you should try them since i am done you may go back to doing whatever it is that you do.
that is not common sense, Chad, you want to forgive a man his indiscretions, I agree, forgive him, but make sure he is repentant prior to handing him such a high profile position. As they have said on the various sports talk shows on in the DFW area, TO is gone but the Circus called the Dallas Cowboys will go on. There is no need for any "new material" to support my argument. Certainly if personal integrity, character, and responsibilty are not substantial enough to support the argument to you, then there is absolutely nothing that will be, as there is nothing else.
Certainly 1,2 & 3 are a given. Marion Barber, whitten, aikman, bill bates, staubach, all exceptional choices, and yes even Romo has potential, certainly this man, Gerald Sensabaugh, does not fit with these quality individuals, further proving my point that he does not belong here and that the "win at all cost" mentality is alive and well at Valley Ranch. Boy if he were a politician we certainly would not be so forgiving..., Your right, you are done.
I enjoyed your posts Chad. I gave up a lot quicker than you did. It was obvious to me that tj is either related to Dale or a good friend as he doesn't listen to reason; just backs up Dale no matter what common sense shows. He is a "hater" and no one is going to change his mind. But Chad your posts were right on, they are just making a big deal about nothing.
Glad to hear i am not fighting this idiocricy by myself
A guy here at work made a good point also. If i owned a bently and was in the projects i would probably have a gun or two also. Thats called protection
Ha you guys are laughable, I am a hater, and related to Dale. Jerry is the Anti Christ and To is Jesus Christ,Pac Man is Moses and we are all getting the shaft aren't we lol. You two sit there and hold each other's hands and pat each other on the back. The fact remains that jj does not care about his players, their personal history or the patterns of behavior, he wants to win, and win at any cost. That is the point. They must be having a sale on blinders somewhere?
